i am definately insane although i dont think it can all be blamed on the knowledge i've obtained recently and trying to deal with the aftermath.

at least part of the reason is probably genetic.

so where are the angels of mercy for people with incurable insanity?

The dubs just arent as smart as the Mormons.
The Momos split their meetings up into smaller groups, children go of into childrens groups, women into womens, people rotate around.Then the whole congregation reassemles together again.
Not as stultified as a dub meeting.
The dub meetings are absolute conformity exercizes, everyone from babe to old granny sat feeding at the same spiritual table.
Guess the org masters feel it is a matter of great urgency that every single dub on earth drink from the same wellspring. The speaker on the podium.One voice.
Guess that is just one more evidence that the Org is unquestionably the most Controlled "mainstream" church in all of Christendom.

last year i re-read the book 1984 by george orwell.

only i read the book with the borg in mind.

My understanding is that 1984 was based upon Russian communism.

Have you read anything about Russian communist history alteration?
I might recommend "The Revolution betrayed" and "The Stalin school of Falsification" By Trotsky.(A commie Apostate)

Read "school of falsification', the methods used by Stalin to alter history, and see if it doesnt spin you right out! If you have done extensive research into WT history you will recognize the methods are almost identical.
See how two classes were formed.(remnant and other sheep).
See how the ruling elite claimed to be directed by the "proletariat"
(remnant) while in fact, the "proletariat" (remnant) had no influence in the decision making process.

questions about obtaining Higher Education for JWs

i have read a couple of threads the last couple of days that dealt with what you have to give up when becoming a jw.. most posts that i read said they have to give up getting a higher education.

my question is this: is that still a trend today?

that elders frown or discourage young jws from going to college or university by telling them to put kingdom's interest first?

here are just a few quotes from the WT of Sept 15, 1971.
Perhaps adequately demonstrating the orgs position in the early 70s..

page 563 :..."All worldly careers are soon to come to an end.So why should todays youth get interested in "higher education" for a future that will never eventuate? The colleges are falling into chaos anyway"...

..."there is the "highest education" that Jehovah provides thru his organization, preparing for a satisfying career of full time service that goes on forever"....

...."politically,commercially,morally- this world has had it. Education is in disorder"....

..."parents fortify your children,see that they avoid the bad influences at school-dances,parties, dating."....

all in all something of an anti education position.
Of course, there was an expectation in the air at that time,stances are always more extreme in a crisis situation.

they had posted a comment from a "spiritual widow" and i had to wonder what the heck they meant by that???
